Bridge Street Car Park

The Bridge Street car park has always been a popular facility for visitors to the lower part of the town but had deteriorated in to a very poor state with many potholes and much of the tarmac surface missing. In 2014 the Trust fully funded the design work for a renovated car park layout, and the subsequent resurfacing, to ensure that those visiting this historic part of Berwick could continue to benefit from this free parking facility. The gap that provides the main entrance off Bridge Street was the site of the Old Bridge Tavern and the original sign for the pub is now on display in the rear courtyard of the adjacent Granary.
