Shoe Lane

1993 - 1994 Architects: Jack Lynn and Thomas Stewart

Shoe Lane was acquired in 1993 from its owners, the Mosgrove family who had a chain of shoe shops throughout the area. It had been an old shoe factory but was  redundant and derelict. This property was converted into three flats – but equally importantly, this development created a new walkway from Eastern Lane to Bridge Street – hence the name Shoe Lane. It received a commendation in the Civic Trust awards of 1995.
